The consensus of many scientists and organizations is we must address the changing nature of Earth’s climate. The impact of climate change is felt in every corner of the globe with rising temperatures on land and in our oceans. Innovations in climate resilience offer hope amid these growing challenges. At Battelle, we believe in the transformative power of these innovations and their potential to pave the path for a balanced future. That’s why we’re convening the third annual Innovations in Climate Resilience Conference (ICR24) in Washington D.C., from April 22-24, 2024, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
Understanding Innovations in Climate Resilience
As a result of technological innovations, policies and practices, new solutions in climate resilience will support the development of new methods for adapting and recovering from the impacts of climate change. It involves integrating various approaches from multiple sectors, such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure and urban development, to build more resilient communities and ecosystems. By implementing these approaches, we can mitigate the unfavorable effects of climate change while simultaneously laying the foundation for a sustainable future.
This is why this year’s theme for ICR24 is “Solutions for Scaling Change”.
We are convening world experts and solvers with our partners from U.S. national laboratories and the Wilson Center, to represent technologies and ideas from government, industry and academia. It is vital that we continue to work together to share advancements and plans for action to limit climate change outcomes, and meet the goal of building a healthier and more secure planet for all.
The primary themes for the conference are:
As climate change intensifies, we need innovators worldwide to join forces to develop solutions to reduce, mitigate and adapt. It is our responsibility to shape the future, and participation is essential to achieving success.
Addressing climate change is achievable; and there is a real pathway towards building a sustainable future for generations to come. By merging policy frameworks, technological advancements, and collective action, we still have a window of opportunity to reinforce our resilience to climate change and design a more sustainable world. By welcoming these innovations and working together, we can lay the groundwork for a future that prioritizes the health of our planet and well-being of its occupants.
Join us for ICR24 on Earth Day: the future is bright, green and within our grasp.
